Pier 39 isn’t just for tourists, contrary to popular belief. Couples may struggle to choose what to do first, given the variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Enjoy a walk along the pier, keeping an eye out to see sea lions and stopping to observe street performers.

Try the Magowan Infinite Mirror Maze. It’s even harder to find your way with psychedelic lights and music.

Spend part of your afternoon on the catamaran, 65 feet long, known as “Kitty Kat”, and whale-watch. While you explore the Gulf of the Farallons National Marine Sanctuary, learn about whales and other marine life. The next visit is completely free if you are not able to spot whales.

Union Square

For thrill-seekers, the San Francisco Dungeon offers a thrilling ‘haunted experience’. They provide an unforgettable experience by immersing visitors in the story with an incredible cast.

The Presidio

The Presidio has a number of trails that can be used for biking and hiking, making it a great place to go for those who are more adventurous. You have the option to either stay near the ocean or explore the Southern Wilds, where you can trek through the forest.

The Urban Hike combines history and beauty. You will be accompanied by an experienced guide through the former military base, where you’ll visit the San Francisco National Cemetary. You’ll be walking along Ecology Trail and Lover’s Lane. You can see Alcatraz from Inspiration Point.

Street vendors and food trucks will be available at the Presidio Picnic. There are many food options. Star Wars fans should stop by Lucasfilm Headquarters, just inside the Lombard Gates, to see the amazing Yoda statue.

Golden Gate Park

You can enjoy the gardens or the aquarium, or simply relax at the Golden Gate Park. This is the perfect place for a couple looking to get fit. Archery is available just north of the course. You can rent equipment and get tips from experienced archers. It is surrounded by green grass and trees, making it a great spot for a picnic.

Rent a paddleboat or rowboat and go out to Stow Lake. Strawberry Hill is located in the middle the lake. The breathtaking views include a waterfall and can be enjoyed by walking up to the top.

Russian Hill

The amazing street murals of Balmy and Clarion Alley can be seen from the streets. Galeria de la Raza is home to contemporary Latino art. Zeitgeist is one of many places to get a cold beer in this area.

North Beach

A perfect spot for a date is North Beach, also known in San Francisco as “Little Italy”, which is an afternoon spent there. You can find French and Japanese restaurants as well as Italian food. Caffe Greco is a popular spot to eat.

The stunning Peter and Paul Church is located in Washington Square. Doc’s Lab offers a place to eat, drink and enjoy comedy, readings and music.

SoMa – South of Market

SoMa is a large, well-known district in the heart of the city. It is home to the Cartoon Art Museum and the Giants as well as other amazing cultural museums. You can grab coffee and croissants from The Butler & The Chef or one of the many cafes and restaurants.

SoMa is home to many shops, boutiques, nightclubs, and other amenities. You can dance to live music at the Mezzanine, or maybe you’ll be able to go on the same night as a DJ. The Smuin Ballet is a great place to enjoy performing arts.

Chinatown

Chinatown is the largest in North America and Asia, and it offers more than great Chinese food. You will find many museums, gardens, theaters and beautiful Asian women. You can stop by the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory to see the many shapes and sizes. You can also stay and watch the cookie making process.

Spend a few hours walking around the San Francisco Zoo and the California Academy of Sciences Museum. You can also visit the Exploratorium and the Winchester Mystery House.
